Delta’s Sky Clubs are some of the best clubs in the world. There are more than 50 of them all over the world. Depending on where you are, Sky Club services can include free Wi-Fi, free drinks and snacks, hot meals, and in some places, toilets. On Delta’s website, the Sky Club page has a full list of where each club is and what it offers.

Delta doesn’t sell single-visit passes to its bars like other companies do. How must you get into a Sky Club before your next flight? You can do it four ways.

Fly first or business class abroad on Delta or one of its partners:

Does a first-class pass get you into a Delta Sky Club for free? Yes, Sky Club lounge entry is part of your ticket if you’re going overseas in first or business class on one of Delta’s 18 SkyTeam partner airlines.

All customers in the premium class of a SkyTeam airline, regardless of whether they purchased with miles or cash, Delta passengers, among others, have access to the more than 750 lounges in the SkyTeam network..

As a Delta SkyMiles elite member, you can fly internationally:

If you buy Delta’s “Premium Economy,” do you get entry to the lounge? This is only available to elite customers flying Delta or another SkyTeam airline. If you have a Gold, Platinum, or Diamond rank in Delta’s SkyMiles frequent flyer programme, you and a friend can use the lounge when travelling abroad. Whether you’re in economy, business, or first class, it doesn’t matter. If you are a special member of Delta, at least at the Gold level, you can go to the club.

Delta is part of SkyTeam, so if you have a status with Delta, you can use it on other SkyTeam flights. For example, if you’re a Gold member of Delta, you’re also a SkyTeam Elite Plus member, which gives you access to lounges on foreign trips.

Even if the first part of your trip is a local Delta flight, this is still true. You can use the lounge before your flight if you are going on a foreign flight on a SkyTeam plane the same day. You can’t get into welcome rooms when you land, though.

How to get into delta sky club?

Delta Sky Clubs can be used if you buy a ticket for a year. A basic membership costs $695 and gives you access to a Sky Club bar every time you fly on Delta. You can bring along as many as two guests for an additional fee of $50 per person, each stay. With the $1,495 executive version, you can always bring two friends for free.

But for many travellers, it may be cheaper to skip the yearly fee and get a Delta credit card that gives them entry to lounges instead. You can also use SkyMiles to pay for an annual membership. A regular membership costs 54,500 miles, while an executive membership costs 84,500.

Have the right credit card on you:

Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card and Delta SkyMiles® Reserve Business American Express Card

Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card and Delta SkyMiles® Reserve Business American Express Card users can use Delta Sky Clubs when flying on a Delta-operated or -marketed trip—flying with a SkyTeam member. For $50, you can use your cards to get into the bars.

While the $550 annual fee is hefty, the numerous benefits and attractive sign-up offers more than make up for it with either of these cards. For new members, the Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card comes with a welcome bonus: You can earn 50,000 bonus miles and 10,000 Medallion® Qualification Miles (MQMs) when you use your new Card to make a $5,000 purchase during the first six months. A set of guidelines has been established.

This is the welcome deal for the Delta SkyMiles® Reserve Business American Express Card: Spend $5,000 on your new Card in your first three months as a Card Member, and you’ll get 70,000 bonus miles. There are rules.

Delta SkyMiles® Platinum American Express Card and Delta SkyMiles® Platinum Business American Express Card

If you don’t fly Delta often, the Delta SkyMiles® Platinum American Express Card or the Delta SkyMiles® Platinum Business American Express Card may be better. With these cards, you can get into Delta Sky Club bars for a lower monthly fee of $250 and $50 per person per visit.

This is the welcome deal for the Delta SkyMiles® Platinum Business American Express Card: Spend $3,000 on your new Card in your first three months as a Card Member, and you’ll get 60,000 Bonus Miles. There are rules.

The Business Platinum Card® from American Express and The Platinum Card® from American Express

The Platinum Card® from American Express or The Business Platinum Card® from American Express may be the best way to get into a Sky Club lounge. Both cards give the cardholder or authorised users entry when they are on a Delta-operated or -marketed trip. Each card has an annual fee of $695 and access choices similar to the Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card, as well as access to AmEx’s Centurion Lounges and the Priority Pass network (requires enrollment) and several other perks.

The biggest problem with these cards is that they don’t ensure you can bring a friend, even if you pay extra. However, some lounges may let you do so. There are rules.

American Express Centurion® Card and American Express Business Centurion® Card

Those lucky enough to have a Centurion Card also get perks from the Sky Club area. But these cards are only given out by request, so most travellers can’t get one. There are rules.

Access is free:

Depending on the type of cabin you’re in, you may get free entry to the bar. Anyone in business class on a domestic or international Delta One trip (usually high-end transcontinental or long-distance international lines) can get in. The same bonus applies to foreign flights in business class or first class on a SkyTeam partner airline.

Delta Medallion elite members with Gold, Platinum, or Diamond rank can use the club when flying in premium economy class or higher on an overseas flight run by Delta or a partner airline that meets certain requirements. Even with an economy ticket, passengers can still get into a Delta Club if they have another way in, like a Delta Sky Club membership or a qualified American Express card. All other SkyTeam Elite Plus members get access when flying internationally, regardless of where they are located.

Even if you only fly occasionally, having lounge access can improve your time at the airport. The Sky Club is a great choice if you fly with Delta often. More than 50 Delta Sky Clubs are in the U.S., spread out among dozens of airports. The only Delta Sky Club bar outside the U.S. is at Tokyo Haneda International Airport (HND).

Delta One

Delta one is for people taking a local Delta trip.
Customers who are on an overseas Delta flight in Delta One.
Customers with a local ticket who are going to or coming from an international Delta One flight on the same day.

Guest Access: none

SkyTeam Premium Cabin Passenger:

Customers can fly in Delta One on an international Delta flight or a domestic Delta flight that connects to or from an international Delta flight on the same day, or they can fly in global First or Business Class on a SkyTeam-operated trip.
To get into the Club, a customer must be booked in the top seat (first or business class) for the international part of their trip.

Have Eligible Elite Status:

Delta Diamond, Platinum, or Gold Medallion Members Get SkyTeam Elite Plus
SkyTeam Elite Plus members can fly in any class on an international or domestic SkyTeam flight that connects to or from an international flight on the same day. This includes same-day travel on a Delta domestic flight that connects to a global Delta or any other SkyTeam partner flight. Please show your regular flyer card to join the club if you are going overseas.
SkyTeam Elite Plus benefits are only available at the airport of exit and only at the airport of landing if the passenger is connecting to an approved SkyTeam flight. SkyTeam Elite Plus benefits do not include entry to business lounges run by third parties.
As of February 2, 2023, if you have a SkyMiles Gold, Platinum, or Diamond Medallion, you can no longer get into the club for free when flying economy class internationally. To get inside, you must be a Premium Select or Delta One passenger. But, like the new rules for Basic Economy, if you have the right credit card, you can still get into the club as usual.
Access for one friend is free (SkyTeam Elite Plus: itinerary must include foreign travel on a SkyTeam flight on the same day).
